Fishing

The weather has been awesome the last few days. We have been having like mid 60s to low 70s this weekend.

Yesterday Matt, Morgan, Kelly, and I went to a Trout Derby to support the Boy Scouts in our ward. We were able to catch 2 fish each. This was the first time Morgan had ever been fishing and she was so excited. Matt bought her a Lightning McQueen fishing pole at Walmart for like $10.

This was the funniest thing. As soon as her line was cast she got a bite. We were able to catch 8 fish and she got 4 of them with her pole. She loved it and wanted to keep fishing. Good thing they stocked the pond for the event so we didn't wait too long for a fish to jump on.

We got one on the bank with the net and Morgan was looking at it, the fish started to flop around and she jumped and screamed. It was so funny!

Well here are some pics of the momentous occasion.

I am so bad at this blogging thing!

Well it is now 2010 and I finally decided to get on here and actually type something.
Matt and I are preparing for another Smith baby. This one is due on May 21st. You know what's even more fun? We know what this baby is and we aren't telling anyone what it is!! HAHAHAH lol!

Things are going well here in PA. Soccer season is coming up again in March, looking forward to coaching a bunch of 12,13,14,and 15 year old girls with all there drama. It's actually pretty cool to be coaching and actually having fun doing it because I don't have a whole lot of pressure to win or lose at the junior high level.

Morgan is growing up so fast... I feel like we have a 7 year old sometimes... She's saying things like I realize and I have a good idea...
No idea where she gets this stuff at!!
Our challenge these days with her is letters and numbers... She likes to sing the alphabet song but her version goes " A,B,C,D,E,F,G,Y,P,... Numbers are rough too she can get to 13 but she seems to think that 16 comes next for some reason. We are working on it. Oh,boy!!! It's so crazy the girl can name every character on those cartoons she watches but can't count in order.

We had a huge incident last week.... She decided to draw on the new living room carpet with red crayon... Oh, I was so angry at her! I was looking at something on tv then looked down but as she was finishing her design which was like 3 feet across. Luckily Matt was able to get it out because it wasn't pressed into the carpet.

Well friends that's it for now... I will have to update again soon with some pics.

Visit to South Carolina

We hadn't planned to go to SC this summer but under not so good circumstances, we were able to make the trip. Morgan was soooooo good in the car. Thank you inventors of the portable DVD player and her favorite new movie, Bolt. We got to see people and meet others this trip. Aaron and Caroline, Joe and Anne Stubbs, The Robinson Family, Bill Crubaugh, and some people at church. We had an awesome visit with Matt's friend's families. I am so thankful that we were able to crash with the Stubbs and the Robinsons while we were there. She had so much fun with the boys, Cooper and Steele. Morgan practiced her swimming and even got brave enough to jump off the side of the pool and go under by herself. She really just started swimming last Monday so we are amazed that she did what she did. Finally the lessons paid off! Not too much else happening here.

Our Trip to Utah

Morgan had her first airplane ride and it was a trip out to Utah. Only 5 hours on a plane with a 3 year old. What fun!!!

We had so much fun on our trip. Morgan got to meet a lot of family that she never knew she had. It was funny cause she kept talking about her new cousins Zach, Taylor, and Noah.

Lots of shopping, played a huge game of kickball, and a picnic with the family.

Matt, Morgan, Kathy (Matt's mom), and I had a great time and we were all sad to come back.

The flight back was short and Morgan actually slept this time. She also enjoyed watching a few movies on the DVD player.

It's only been like 4 monthes

Well, I finally have things to write about I guess. Matt is finished with college and we are so proud of him for working hard to get his degree. I am so ready for the summer that I am going crazy. Soccer season for the Junior High Girls is over next week. Unfortunately I won't be at the last game because we are going out to Utah. Can't wait!!!! It's been quite an interesting year for all of us. Morgan had her first birthday party with her little friends. We took her to a local place called Cluggy's. They have play tunnels and games. Lots of fun for the kids and adults too. Almost forgot, Morgan was a flower girl in a friend's wedding in April. She was so cute! I have posted what pics we have for now.

Maybe Santa is Not So Scary!

Man, I haven't posted in a while. So here's a new one finally.

You know how little kids can be frightened of Santa Claus. Well I think that was an understatement for Morgan last year. As soon as she saw Santa come in the door at a Breakfast with Santa event she screamed. The thing was that she was across a huge room, not even remotely close to him.

This year it seems to be a little different. We went to the beach this past Friday and on the way we stopped to drive through a light show. Santa was waiting at the entrance with candycanes for all.

We rolled down Morgan's window so she could see Santa and get her candy cane from him. She didn't cry or anything this time. I think that I even saw a smile. After that encounter Morgan asked where Santa was for the next hour. She also kept saying," Santa says' HO, HO, HO, HO'!"

It certainly was different and a bit annoying after a while. We will see how she is when she gets to sit on his lap next Saturday at this year's Breakfast with Santa.

Our Little Gymnast

We have been watching the Olympics and I believe that we saw just about every event... Morgan had an interest in the gymnastic event and decided that she wanted to do a forward roll out of the blue. Being a PE teacher I was amazed that she could do it pretty well and by herself at 2. So after the tumbling routine she put on we decided to enroll her in a local gymnastics class for toddlers. I had actually thought about it last spring but we thought that she was still a little young. Today was our first class. There were about 5 or 6 other girls in the class, all but 2 are around Morgan's age. The beginning of the class was a little rough because Morgan is shy until she warms up. I thought, " Oh, I think this may have been a bad idea!" She did much better as the class went on and had fun on the mats. I think her favorite was the trampoline. Here's a funny video of our first class.
